This year our theme is God's Great Big Beautiful World, "an interactive vacation Bible school curriculum where children explore, celebrate, and care for God’s good creation! The five Bible stories in this VBS lead children on an awesome adventure through the Bible, from Genesis to Revelation. Through worship and drama, Bible study, nature-themed art projects and snacks, active games, and science explorations, children will discover God’s love for all of creation. They will be challenged to care for God’s world in tangible ways—both during VBS and at home."
**Camp runs from Monday, July 25th-Friday, July 29th from 9a-noon and costs $35 for each camper. Register your campers below and spread the word!
We're also looking for:
· Teen volunteers (entering grades 7-12) to help lead our campers throughout the week. There will be a mandatory training Thursday, July 21st at 6pm at Holy Martyrs. This is a wonderful way to earn ~15 service hours and have TONS of fun helping make summer memories for our young campers!
· Adult volunteers to help lead the Games/Activities Station and The Arts & Crafts Station. No special planning is required. We supply you with the plan for the day, and all the materials. All the "skill" required is a willing heart -- all adult volunteers must have completed the Protecting God's Children training prior to camp. Please email the parish for more information.
· Families AND/OR Individuals to Help w/ Set Up on Thursday, July 21st from 9am-1pm. Come help us transform St. Gregory's for our campers. "All hands welcome!" We need help clearing our spaces, as well as setting up tents and our decorative props. A pizza lunch will be provided. Please RSVP if you can, so we know how many people to expect.
· At home prop builders to take home materials to help build our "set" for the week. This includes a bunch of foam board animals that have been cut out and glued. Don't have time to participate during the week of camp, but still want to help make this wonderful week magical -- this might be just the project for you!
· Large or Extra Large Animal "Stuffies" to use for our decoration this year. We are thinking of those extra large "life size" type animals, but we'll take what we can get :) We'd also love to borrow any smaller scale plastic animals /farm set up toys to offer during snack time for busy hands. All "props" should be labeled with the family's name and dropped off to Holy Martyrs -- and will be brought back to the office after camp is over for pick up!
· Pop tents to use as part of our indoor welcome space and/or providing shade for our outdoor stations. All "pop tents" should be labeled with the family's name and dropped off to Holy Martyrs -- and will be brought back to the office after camp is over for pick up!
