A treasured history of CHORAL SINGING is alive and well at Sacred Heart Church in Yarmouth, thanks to the efforts in the early 1980's by the late Patricia Siviski, Music Director and her husband, Ron Siviski.
Weekend Masses at Sacred Heart offer several styles of music to uplift your soul and deepen your communion with the liturgy:
WOMEN'S SCHOLA
Women's Schola
(1st or 2nd Saturday of most months) & Organ/Piano Mass
4 pm, Saturday
MEN'S SCHOLA
SACRED HEART ADULT CHOIR
Adult Choir and/or Adult Schola & Organ Mass
11 am, Sunday (pre Mass rehearsal 10 AM)
directed by Jennifer Runge, AB, MM, Director of Music Ministries
SATB Adult Choir Rehearsals, Wednesdays, 6:30 - 8:15 PM late Sept - mid June
Sectionals, as needed...
The Sacred Heart SATB Adult Choir places a particular emphasis on making Antiphons, Chant and 4 part Anthems integral parts of modern liturgy in accordance with the General Instruction of the Roman Missal (GIRM). We lead the singing at the 11 AM Mass almost each week, mid -September through mid-June.
We welcome the participation of all parishioners who enjoy singing and can (sort of!) read music and who wish to dedicate themselves to the ministry via regular attendance at rehearsals and scheduled liturgies. If reading ancient (gregorian) or modern notation is not a comfortable part of your skill set, you'll learn quickly - that's part of the fun and fellowship.
New voices always welcome! Please speak to any choir member after Mass or seek out Jen or Ron.
Youth Choir sings the 2nd or 3rd Sunday of the month at the 11 AM Mass at Sacred Heart, Yarmouth & at special parish wide events, during Advent, Lent, Palm Sunday, Easter and Marian Sundays.
See our page under Music Ministry or contact Jen Runge
(high school voices - with cambiata or changing voices - may have a separate rehearsal)

Looking for a way to serve in Music Ministry without the weekend commitment? Consider joining the new Parish Funeral Choir! Funeral Choir will hold ongoing daytime rehearsals to build a repertoire of hymns & chants appropriate to any funeral at our Parish. Funerals happen most frequently during the week at 10 or 11 AM.
Contact Ron Siviski for more information.
CANTORS
Cantor Training is available for those interested. Psalmists and Cantors are needed at the regular weekend masses, as well as for weddings, funerals and special services. Please contact Jennifer Runge or Ron Siviski (at SH) for more information.
