Bit by bit your children become fluent in music (both tonal and rhythmic elements) and begin a rich and faith-filled life journey through simple prayers and Catholic concepts like the Sign of the Cross, guardian angels, Adoration of Jesus, and reverence for Mary.
Beat the winter blues with four classes in January - February when Maine is at its coldest, but indoor free instrument play and shaky egg shake-ups are at their finest!
Join us for Winter Extension focusing on music for Lent. Also, we'll feature The Divine Mercy chaplet during these classes where we model deeper spirituality for our littles.

CHECK BACK FOR CLASS DATES
Each summer Making Music, Praying Twice takes on the feel of summer camp! Classes meet daily for an hour each morning with a uniquely summer vibe - think "Take me out to the ballgame"... sign language songs...gathering drums....
Shorts are encouraged and lots of families check us out for the first time with this program.
Perfect for the family who has multiple young children at home! No official musical equipment required. Families will be encouraged to collect homemade instruments and materials with their kiddos at home (think pots and pans, beans in tupperware or paper towel tubes, mom's scarf collection or sheer curtains.) Parents who exhibit joy while making music with their voices, bodies, and homemade instruments will have children eager to join in!

Making Music, Praying Twice classes are especially designed for infants, toddlers, and pre-schoolers
and their parents, grandparents, or caregiver.
This is fun, easy, joyful music and faith formation for you and your little one - TOGETHER!
Our classes immerse the child and parent in a cultural world that includes
and bathes their little ears with a language that is both highly musical and deeply spiritual.

To make your own instruments.....
For shakers: put beans, rice, legos, pasta, beads, etc. in small tupperware containers and tape shut, or use empty plastic bottles.
For scarves/parachute: do you have scarves you wear with nice outfits? or a pair of sheer curtains that's not in use? These both have nice "floaty" qualities.
For free instrument time: gather up what you already have and add to it pots, pans, wooden spoons, metal spoons.
Drums: I had fun making drums by taking an empty oatmeal container, decorating it with construction paper and covering the lid with stretchy fabric or paper bag material held in place by an elastic. Empty cookie tins work too!
